My blog has been completely silent since November. In fact, I never even finished my 31 Days series! Well, in early November, I had an issue with my password being hacked and after I changed the password, I could no longer log in to write posts or anything. Then some other glitch occurred and apparently prevented anyone from clicking on anything other than the home page. I didn’t have time over the holidays to figure out what went wrong, but lately I’ve been trying to figure it out so I could get it running again. I know a decent amount about designing and running blogs, but this technical issue had me stumped. Thankfully my brother is great at troubleshooting stuff like this and he was able to figure out what happened and fix it for me! Thanks, Greg!
Currently, my Macbook is a paperweight. Lots of 2011 Macbook Pros have been dying due to faulty connections between video cards and logic boards. I don’t know all the details about the technical aspects, but I do think this is a widespread problem since my brother’s 2011 Macbook died of the exact same issue only three weeks before mine did. He’s found that there are quite a lot of people with this issue, and Apple’s customer service has been positively shameful about it. My brother was told (by Apple) that he shouldn’t expect an Apple computer to last more than two and a half years anyway. If they don’t believe in their product, I sure don’t, and don’t plan to give them any more money.
I haven’t decided what to do yet. I may see if a third party can repair it for cheap, or I may get a new computer (Windows, of course). In the meantime, I’m using my husband’s computer. I don’t have any editing software on here, and don’t want to load all of my photos on here at the moment. My camera has a feature in which it can connect to my phone, so I’ve been using that to put photos on my phone, edit them with VSCO Cam, and then load them onto Facebook. Mostly, it’s been such a hassle that I haven’t felt inspired to take any photos.
I also don’t have access to the document with all of my blog post ideas. That’s why all the silence on here!
Until next time,
If you’ve been to my blog before, you may notice a lot of changes around here. I originally created this blog as a photography blog when I was planning to go into business. Now, I’ve made the transition to hobbyist, which meant my blog’s organization needed a little freshening up. In addition to that, I’ve been wanting to start a blog about teaching homeschool history and English, to work out my ideas with the eventual goal of writing a book on it someday. I intended to keep two separate blogs, but my behind the scenes advisors (you know who you are) suggested I try blogging about everything in one place. My brain had trouble imagining two disparate topics in the same place, but others pointed out that the uniting factor here is me, and people might enjoy getting to know me more through my blogging. If you only care about my photos, or my homeschool posts, I’ll be keeping everything organized using the top menu bar.
Please, please, read my new About this Blog page for more info about my vision for this blog.
